Make a tiny home for your cat-equipment manuals
One simple folder can make replacement parts, warranty questions, and sitter handoffs easier.
When something stops working, the hardest part can be remembering what you bought. You do not need a complicated organizer. A folder and a short note for each device are enough to create a useful starting point.
Use one note per product
Name the note with the brand, model and purchase year. Add a photo of the model label, your receipt location, the official manual link, and the manufacturer’s support page. Keep serial numbers in your private copy rather than publishing them.
Separate facts from reminders
Under “verified parts,” record only replacements you have matched to the maker’s information. Under “to check,” put uncertain parts, questions and links you have not reviewed. That separation keeps a guess from becoming next month’s shopping instruction.
Make handoffs easier
If a sitter uses the equipment, share only the instructions they need. Leave account passwords and payment information out. Show them how the device normally looks and where to find the official guide.
Review the note when you replace a device or discover a revised part. The point is to make the next purchase or support request easier, not to create another elaborate recordkeeping task.
